Setting the Scene
In February 2018, I left a job as a corporate lawyer to spend my time reading textbooks and papers on information theory, computational complexity, causality, and machine learning.
This blog is intended to serve two distinct goals: to track my progress and to express my ideas.
To the extent I may have something valuable to add, this blog will focus on how (and why) to create algorithms that generate representations of the causal structure of the “outside world.” We will also go off the beaten path to discuss genomics, finance, law, and the long-run effects of complex social dynamics.
I believe we’re at a turning point in the course of human civilization. How, or if, we go through this next period in our history will rank in importance to the development of agriculture.
Sounds like the ideal time for a quantitative attorney.
